This was one of those lesser known "sequels" to a well known tale. Every bit a child I particularly enjoyed everything Rudoplh and the fact that he could be a hero without his olfactory organ was even better. This story was adapted from the original story of the aforementioned name written as a verse form.
In this story, the reindeer take forgotten how proud of Rudolph they'd been when he'd kickoff guided Santa's sleigh on that foggy Christmas Eve. They've taken to tormenting him again, and Rudolph has finally had enough. He starts feeling sorry for himself. No 1 likes him. All the other reindeer play and socialize while he's off in a corner by himself. No one would even notice if he wasn't there, so he'd simply leave. This story was adapted from the original story of the same proper name written every bit a poem.

He wasn't expecting the consequences of that determination though. Will he come to his senses and return to help Santa in fourth dimension for the Christmas Eve flight? And even if he does, will he be able to pb as he'd done before?
A beautiful story that adds a new twist to the familiar Rudolph movies, when I'd never read any of the Rudolph stories before. ...more

I think this book is beautifully done. I remember enjoying this when I was little. I love how Rudolph deals with his own cocky-pity and learns to love, appreciate and accept himself for who he is, as well as tackling the effects of bullying. This story touches on a lot of issues children are faced with. A book that is not only a Christmas tale.

Such a nifty book to teach the lessons of not being rude or jealous of someone else and also to believe in yourself.
"The nigh important thing is that I stopped feeling pitiful for myself." - Rudolph

I wasn't sure what to expect with this because the original Rudolph story is hard to live up to. This is a decent little addition to other stories of Rudolph.
The story begins with Rudolph being upset because after being the hero and saving Christmas the year earlier, the other reindeer and envious and excluding him.
Rudolph ends up leaving and goes off into the forest to be lonely because he assumes, incorrectly, that Santa will no longer need him.

While in the woods Rudolph meets a very unhappy rabbit family who has lost their 2 youngest babies. The parents, fearing that wolves will get their babies are and so distraught that Rudolph knows he has to help.
Rudolph finds the babies, alive and scared, and returns them to the parents who invite Rudolph to stay for their Christmas party. Hearing "Christmas" makes Rudolph remember virtually Santa and he politely declines the invitation.
On the way back to Santa Rudolph's olfactory organ starts to glow again, something that hasn't happened in awhile, and he'due south aware of the fact that the reason it stopped was considering he was feeling sorry for himself. After he'due south returned he finds that Santa did in fact need him again and because of this and helping the rabbit family he realizes that he's not and then worthless after all.
The catastrophe is squeamish, with Santa and the rabbit family both being thankful for Rudolph saving the day. ...more than
