What Is the Difference Between Regular and Vol 2 Play Arts Kai
How-do-you-do! The guy who really likes Deject is back with another entry. This style of entries is non something I'm very familiar with, but I thought information technology would be helpful to compare the two of these figures since I ain both of them and people can run across the differences side by side! At first I very much did not intend to buy the version 2, but I really liked how his new face and hair sculpt looked...and I collect Cloud figures anyways. Also I ended upwardly labeling most of these pictures because I was non paying attending and was non consistent with which side whatsoever version was on. So sad!
Go on in mind that I brought my version 1 second-paw and it has been through a fair flake of posing. I got version ii make new from amiami.
Firstly, Here's some adjacent pictures of the boxes. For the most part non really different. 
I wanted to briefly touch the fact that they take completely unlike stands. I have no thought when they opted to change the stand up pattern, only I'grand glad they did. The version 1 stand is the kind that you kind of have to get together yourself (as in, yous even accept to spiral it together) and information technology's overall very flimsy. I have a friend with a Zack Fair PAK that has the same stand. Version 2 stand still is not my favorite and I wish it was clear, but I like the design of it more and you do not have to likewise much assembly. Still the stand is not something I even use much because my Clouds tin stand up on their own pretty easily.
Now hither is the most notable difference between the two versions. The face and hair sculpt.
Version ii is by far the one I think looks nicer and looks more like the game. The version i was based on the first trailer and they jumped the gun in making a figure of it... The hair in version 1 looks incredibly chunky and information technology was not something I was a big fan of. Maybe it's just me, but in version 1 he looks more than aroused while in version 2 he has the more stoic expression Cloud is known for.
The jawlines are besides slightly dissimilar also. Version one has a bigger jaw while version 2 has a slimmer, softer jawline. In this instance I think they're both handsome, only the slimmer jawline suits Cloud more than.
The merely matter I similar more nigh version 1 is that it has a more 3-D heart sculpt and version 2 is e'er and so slightly more apartment where his eyes are painted. I don't think this is noticeable at all in photos, then it's really not a big bargain. It is something that I wanted to signal out, though.
To the overall figure.
View spoiler Also I misplaced the 'button' for my version 1 somewhere... I'm certain it'll plow up eventually, though.
The rest of the sculpt to the clothes are seemingly shut to each other. The only differences I really meet in the sculpt are in the clothing folds. Most apparent differences to me are the folds beneath his knees. I practise see some differences in the paint chore in some places, though. For instance, version ane's pauldron appears to take a more than shiny finish compared to version 2's.
Also his set of extra hands are nigh-identical likewise. Was concerned I'd get them mixed upward in the process of taking pictures.
The next most notable difference is the size of the buster sword. May have already spot it in the back view picture above. Before I got this dwelling I was actually concerned I would get the swords mixed up. Information technology is more than to scale with Cloud's actual side and height. 
Materia slots are the aforementioned size, but the version 2 one has a little bit more than detail in the sculpting effectually them.
And a little bit more than on the version 2 figure. I actually like this figure! Trying to modify his easily was a chip of a chore, only then I did the classic pilus dryer pull a fast one on that anybody on this site tells you lot to do and they were finally willing to popular in place. 
Figure tends to hold poses actually well and I stated that he is pretty skillful at being able to stand on his own. The one concern I am going to have about this figure is that his wrist joints will probably inevitably become weaker over time. Particularly when I want to post him in i of his classic Cloud poses such every bit this one:
Version 1 undeniably had his wrist joints grow weaker over time, but now with even a bigger sword it is a concern I have. I wonder if this is as much as an event with characters who wield smaller weapons. (If anyone tin can reply that with their experiences with PAK, I'd dear to know.)
Thanks for reading my entry! I love Cloud and I am very happy with my buy. I hope Square Enix makes a Zack Off-white Remake version as well. His Crisis Core PAK is pretty, but information technology'south not in scale with any of my Clouds! Cloud is actually bigger than him when Zack is supposed to exist visibly taller than him.
